After their shutout loss in the first round of the 4A state playoffs, Centaurus Softball’s season came to an end. It was one of their best seasons in the history of the school; since results started getting put on Maxpreps in 2008, 21-4 is their highest ever win total. This ultimately accumulated towards finishing their season as the 643rd-best team in the nation.
Led by Frontier League Coach of the Year Micci Reed, 1st Team All Conference hitter Charlotte Crim and Frontier League Player of the Year Nora Midness, the Warrior softball team stormed through the 3A/4A Frontier League on their way to achieving a 21-2 regular season record (8-0 in league). They only lost to Brighton and Monarch in the regular season, and although they failed to score a run versus D’Evelyn and Mesa Ridge in Region four of the 4A state playoffs, there was still much to remember about this year.
Top Performances
Multiple players on the team had unbelievable seasons. Nora Midness, the team’s opening day starter, led the team in Earned Run Average (2.61, 25th in CO) and Slugging Percentage on top of ranking second on the team regarding both Batting Average (BA) and on base percentage (OBP). Alongside her, Freshman Charlotte Crim ranked 4th in 4A with a .634 BA along with a 4.40 Earned Run Average as the #2 pitcher on the team. Kaitlyn Long, Noble Paw, Emery Fannin, and Morgan Sizemore all earned 2nd team all-conference honors, and 5 hitters on the team were able to reach at least a .400 Batting Average.
Although non-returning seniors Isabel Sanders and Noble Paw were important contributors to the team during 2025 across a combined 45 games, the Warrior Softball team will try to build on this effort into next year. During an interview, Sophomore Emi Sanders stated “We feel stronger than ever before, and we’ve got room to grow from getting into regionals.” Their move from 3/4A to 4/5A will be a sizable jump in quality for the team, but Sanders knows the Warriors are as ready as ever, stating, “The team is all very close and we all play for each other. Which I think will lead us farther than we have ever gone.” She also recognized the importance of seniors Noble Paw and Isabel Sanders, who had brought them the experience that they needed to reach the regional playoffs.
Congratulations once again to the Warrior softball team! With little recognition, they have been one of the best teams at Centaurus so far this year and I’m excited to see if they can build on this effort next year.
