There is so much incredible TV out right now. I mean genuinely great shows, from both a critical and entertainment perspective. My family tries to watch as many shows as possible, but with so many new shows coming out on so many different streaming services, it is very hard to keep up. It’s overwhelming, but I have taken it upon myself to try to help anyone else who is struggling with finding good shows in the quantity being produced. One show that stood out as soon as I started watching it was the Apple TV+ original called Silo. The series is based on the book series Wool by Hugh Howey. The story follows the people that live in a 144-level silo due to the toxicity of the outside world. However, members of the community begin to suspect how much of what they have been told all their lives is really the truth. I don’t want to give too much away, as it is best to just experience it without any prior knowledge. So many parts of the show combine to create an amazing viewing experience. The music creates an ominous atmosphere, and the opening theme is so memorable. Additionally, the lighting and visuals of the show perfectly match the story, with the entire silo feeling like it’s taking place almost outside of time. And of course, the story is amazing. It is a perfect show to binge, and it took immense amounts of self-restraint to not watch it all in one sitting. The cast is great, with a wide variety of actors that fit very well into their roles. It is dystopian fiction done so well, while the ending sets up perfectly for a second and possibly more seasons. If you are struggling to find something to watch, Silo should be at the very top of your list.
